One of the interesting things about any faith-based subculture is the specific cultic language invented to express the identity and shared experiences of adherents. In the case of transgenderism that language is marked by infantilization and use of linguistic rules not reflected in the wider English speaking culture. (I use English here because it is my native language, but would love to hear if transgenderist language is more functional in other languages). These tendencies adopted by transgenderists manifest in various ways.
One example is the terms assigned by adherents to the process of medical and surgical body modification used to disguise oneself as a member of the opposite sex. This process is labeled euphemistically as “transitioning”: the process of changing oneself into something different. Undoing the process: “de-transitioning” or “re-transitioning”. No other series of human body modifications, (even the most radical of medical or surgical procedures) claims to change the person into “something different”, or into a different person. The subtext of this linguistic choice is: A) Superficial appearance and hormonal balance comprise a distinct state of being, and B) that state of being, when adopted by a user, renders them “other”, a change into a literal different entity. But what is truly being changed into something different through this process? A male becomes a male taking estrogen who has disguised his secondary sex characteristics into a visual approximation of female. The language assigned by transgenderists to the medical/surgical/social adoption of superficial sexed appearance is part of the cultic language that supports the fantasies of the transgenderist subculture, and has no correlation to any other medical/surgical procedure, simply because no other regimen purports to change the nature of a subject.
Another linguistic anomaly of transgenderism is the dogged insistence that there be no noun used to describe one who is transgendered. Oh and that reminds me: Transgender is a word that ignores basic rules of the English language. As such it is inherently dysfunctional. There is no such thing as a “transgender person” in the English language, as there is no such thing as a “left-hand person” or a “divorce person”. There are those who can be described as a “left-handed person” or a “divorced person” however. The insistence of transgenderists that the English language adopt words which ignore all rules of the English language is yet another revealing choice by which transgenderists attempt to operate in a fantasy realm outside of language itself, and demand we all join them non-consensually in abandoning common shared language and supporting their adopted reality. But back to the noun problem.
There can be Italians. Gays. Paraplegics. Lawyers. Jews. Lesbians. But according to the adopted linguistics of transgenderists there can be no noun to refer to them, unlike any other descriptive category of human. There can be no “Transgenders” because: A) The word itself is outside the common rules of language, and B.) Transgenderists (presumably) find their own condition to be so inherently outside of human experience that they insist we tack on “human” or “person” to any discriptor, in order to make clear we are discussing a human trait. As in: “Transgender(ed) Person”. The subtext is that transgender is NOT a human trait, unless care is taken to insure that it is. “Italian person” “Lawyer person” etc can be linguistically correct, but no one tries to deny that these words also have noun forms. In some cultures it may be impolite to refer to an individual as the noun form of a descriptor “A Jew”, “A Black”, “A Gay” because these nouns are used to refer to a characteristic or concept, not an individual in their totality. But no one insists that the noun forms of those words don’t exist and can’t be properly used when referring to groups that share a characteristic. You can talk about “asthmatics”, you can talk about “a neighbor”. But you cannot talk about a “transgender” both because the term itself is linguistically flawed, and because transgenderists insist that no noun form should ever be used for the characteristic they share. Out of linguistic necessity the public adopted “Tranny” as the noun form, but transgender(ed) activists have decried its usage.
Other curiosities of the language of transgenderism include the infantilization and pedomorphism implied by the language they use to describe (and obfuscate) the body mods they adopt, and the language they use to describe their experiences of them. “Top surgery” and “Bottom surgery” are good examples. One would presume transgenderists have divided the human body into upper and lower halves, regions of terrain for body modification as it were, but that is not what they mean. They use “top” and “bottom” to refer specifically to breasts and genitals, much as a child might refer to their genitals as “privates” or “down dere”. Top surgery does not refer to “above the waist” or to facial feminization surgery, tracheal shave, laryngoplasty, etc. It refers to breasts. Mastectomy. Breast implants. It refers to breast surgery, in the most infantile way imaginable. “Bottom surgery” must refer to any transgenderist body mod on the lower half of the body, right? Hip implants, liposuction, gluteal implants? Nope. It’s a euphemism for genital surgery. Hysterectomy. Vaginectomy. Bilateral oophorectomy. Metoidioplasty. Phalloplasty. Scrotoplasty. Penectomy. Orchiectomy. ColoVaginoplasty. Etc. Transgenderists use the term “Lower Dysphoria” to define their dissatisfaction with their natural genitals, not discomfort with their thighs or feet. Another infantile genital euphemism specific to transgenderism.
Transgenderists describe ingesting opposite sex hormones as “Transgender(ed) Puberty”. Middle-aged males describe themselves as “a twelve year old girl”, depending on how long they have been taking female hormones, and middle-aged Female “transitioners” describe themselves as teenage boys. Sometimes a direct timeline from the date of starting hormones is used, with a transgenderist stating “I’m a two year old”, referring to themselves as infants from the time of their “rebirth” into the “other” status of their inhabited gender fantasy.
Why have transgenderists adopted language that is inherently “broken”? Why the insistence that the concept of transgenderism should never be referred to in noun form? Why the infantile jargon referring to breasts and genitals? Why the pedo-pubescent self-descriptors? Why the language enshrining surgical “otherness” and surgical transsubstantiation?
It’s all a variation of the fantasy-supporting language of faith-based subcultural identities. Variations particular to the fantasy being constructed and maintained by those using the language. From Robert Lifton’s Eight Conditions of Thought Reform:
Loading the Language
The language of the totalist environment is characterized by the thought-terminating cliché. The most far-reaching and complex of human problems are compressed into brief, highly reductive, definitive-sounding phrases, easily memorized and easily expressed.
The cult invents a new vocabulary, giving well-known words special new meanings, making them into trite clichés. The clichés become “ultimate terms”, either “god terms”, representative of ultimate good, or “devil terms”, representative of ultimate evil. Totalist language, then, is repetitiously centered on all-encompassing jargon, prematurely abstract, highly categorical, relentlessly judging, and to anyone but its most devoted advocate, deadly dull: the language of non-thought.
Controlling words helps to control people’s thoughts.
The group uses black-or-white thinking and thought-terminating clichés.
The special words constrict rather than expand human understanding.
Non-members cannot simply comprehend what cult members are talking about.
The public is not naïve enough to believe that medical science is able to actually change one’s sex. Those ideas are left back in the fifties when the concept was first introduced, and when governments first began issuing fictional legal sex markers on advice of the clueless medical establishment. And everyone knows the concept is false. No science has ever supported the claim that gender roles are anything but culturally created. The very language of transgenderism fails in its efforts to be adopted by the wider culture. It has failure built into it. A house of linguistic cards built on top of a mirage. It reveals more about the fantasy life of transgenderists than it facilitates communication of the concepts it claims to define.

I am not a man! I reiterate: I am a girl and I want to be recognized as one!! The state of Ohio is FORCING me, against my will, to remain transsexual. Prison officials refuse to provide me with the medical treatment I need to become a woman! Ohio is withholding female hormornes from me, and denying me the surgery needed to correct my disorder. Ohio is forcing me to be masculine in appearance and gender. I am being deprived of autonomy and my rights as a United States citizen! I have first amendment rights to be a woman!
I am one of society’s forgotten misfits, thrown into one of the largest successful businesses in America today: the prison system. As I understand it, when persons are sent to prison, that’s the punishment. We are not sent here to be abused, but many of us are, daily. Oppression of any kind is a mockery of our most fundamental American beliefs, and values about freedom and the dignity of other human beings. I am in a continual battle for my rights to be a woman, and for my rights and dignity as a human being. Things are rough here since I am the only transsexual out of almost 200 prisoners on the all male death row in Ohio. I may be the only transsexual incarcerated in any Ohio prison.
The prison system in Ohio is almost totally unprepared to deal with me. I stick out because I’m soft and effeminate. The male/female relationship in prison isn’t similar to the way it is on the outside. Here, if you are feminine–i.e., don’t resist a male’s sexual advances–you become his slave(wife, punk) and are stripped naked. Everything you own belongs to him, from the clothes you wear to who you hang around with, if he chooses to make an issue of it. Is is commonly believed, by male convicts, that a “woman” is supposed to act a certain way: like a slave. For instance, she must be submissive to all MEN, and stay out of controversies between two MEN. If you disobey a MAN, you may be physically brutalized. Women are called “bitches” or “whores.” To a certain extent the prison system supports and encourages these attitudes because it helps prison officials maintain authority and savage control. It also excites some.
The savage irony underlying my convictions and punishment is that the court which sentenced me to death, and the rest of society do not know the “real me” and retain only the false impression of a die-hard savage neo-Nazi gunman, generated at my trial in 1983. Because of my active mental illness at that time(and the great conflict I was experiencing over my transsexuality) I was unable to reveal to others that I am a woman trapped inside a man’s body(i.e., at my trial I wore a moustache!).
I was also unable to establish that I have a psychiatric disorder, and was insane at the time of the crimes. I do not state all this because I believe my mental illness entitles me to a “good citizenship award” for killing three people for no reason. On the contrary, mental illness is not a license to kill or an excuse to commit murder, but rather it is a reason to afford the afflicted person with the medical treatment for the illness, rather than criminal punishment for the acts. At the very least, my citizenship in a civilized state should entitle me to a trip to the hospital so the state can operate on me, and surgically correct me. In 1983 I was so mentally ill that being branded publicly as a racist neo-Nazi seemed wonderful in comparison with the humiliations and treatment I imagined I might have received if I openly admitted transsexuality! (note: my ancestry is Semitic).
Incarceration, for the past 16 years, in the brutal and sadistic all male prison invironment into which I’ve been unwillingly thrust, has cured me of all delusions! I’ve gained mental health and attained competency and am now putting together a lawsuit against prison officials in Ohio because I wish to obtain female sex hormones and a penectomy(surgical removal of the penis, testicles, and castration), which I NEED to become female and are medically nesessary in my case! The ACLU has informed me they cannot help me in a lawsuit because of the amount of work they are already doing in a suit against the prison(i.e., fighting for death row inmates’ rights to say their last words aloud before being executed). The state of Ohio wants to take away that right by making the condemned record his or her last words on a small 3×5 index card prior to being executed, and then give the warden the discretion to read all, part, or none of it to the press after the inmate’s death.
Because I’m still under sentence of death, this letter represents, in a sense, my last words. I may not get other opportunities to speak before I die.
Perhaps there is someone out there who would care to correspond with me, who can offer help, advice and maybe even friendship or affection, if they are not extinct commodities. Hell, I’ll even settle for postcards with dirty jokes!
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I need contacts with lawyers, organizations, or people who are concerned enough to help. I am one desolate, desperate, and oppressed transsexual in bondage – seeking freedom and release! I am seeking assistance from anyone who will help me fight for dignity and my right to live and be a WOMAN.

Miss Frances Anne files lawsuit, and seeks $250,000
Contrary to what some of my critics say, the lawsuit I’ve filed, especially regarding my “serious medical condition” and NEED for treatment, is not a frivolous lawsuit! It has been clearly established by Federal law in four U.S. circuits since 1992(including the 6th Circuit in Ohio) and the District of Columbia, that transsexualism is a serious medical condition for which a transsexual prisoner is entitled to receive treatment while incarcerated. No Circuit Court anywhere in the United States has reached a contrary conclusion. Because transsexualism is a serious medical condition for which a transsexual prisoner is entitled to receive medical treatment while incarcerated in a prison, deliberate indifference by prison officials to a transsexual prisoner’s need for treatment violates the 8th amendment – prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment – pursuant to the United States Supreme Court’s ruling in a previous case. Ohio prison officials have been deliberately indifferent to my serious medical needs. I have repeatedly asked the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction officials to allow me to have an operation to make me into a woman, or to give me treatments with female hormones. All my requests have been denied.
In my lawsuit, I assert that I have a fundamental(and absolute) First Amendment U.S. Constitutional right to become and be a WOMAN. (i.e., the right of AUTOMONY: right of autonomous control over the development and expression of one’s personality, intellect, interests and tastes). Right of autonomy is “absolute, permitting no exceptions,” and one of the chief distinctions which sets the United States of America apart from totalitarian regimes.
I also raise legal claim that I have a First Amendment U.S. Constitutional right to estrogen and a sex-change operation, because such medical treatment is medically necessary for me to become a woman: a transsexual, like myself, cannot exercise her First Amendment rights to be a woman, nor become a woman, without these medical necessities!
My lawsuit also states that I’ve been PHYSICALLY INJURED by prison official’s refusal to provide me with male hormones and sex-conversion surgery in prison. Furthermore, I declare that I am suffering intense psychological PAIN daily because of the extreme discomfort I feel with the male anatomy and the inappropriateness of the masculine identity and role I’ve been forced to assume, and am expected to conform to by placement in the repressive and hostile all male prison environment into which I have been unwillingly thrust, and where I’m not free to express my soul and human spirit, nor free to end my quest for self-realization and attain self-respect and peace of soul by becoming a woman.
I am seeking a declaratory judgment that the acts, policies and practices of prison officials by denying me medical treatment necessary to become a woman violates my right under the United States Constitution, and I am requesting a preliminary and permanent injunction which will require them to change my name on their records and identify me as MISS FRANCES ANNE SPISAK, and require them to provide hormone therapy(estrogen) to me and hospitalization so that I can get surgery(castration and penectomy, etc.) to become a WOMAN while incarcerated. I am also seeking over $250,000 in damages(for pain, suffering, and mental cruelty to me).
I have always believed that my crimes were more the result of my psychiatric disorder than anything else and, if provided the medical and surgical treatment I NEED to become a woman, that I can be rehabilitated sufficiently in a woman’s role and that I will pose no future danger to society if ever released at a later date. This type of medical treatment and rehabilitation is more scientific and more humane that the fate I’ve been facing for the past 17 years on death row: execution by electric chair or lethal injection. We need to leave these barbaric methods of punishment behind us, along with the 20th Century that is expiring and going into the ashcan of world history along with its historical legacies of two World Wars, racism, genocide, inequality, and the persecution of sexual minorities.

[Frank Spisak is a 59 year-old Neo-Nazi Serial Murderer who in 1982, over a period of six months, murdered three Black men in cold blood, shot another 7 times (who survived), tried to shoot a woman in the back after she fought off his assault and attempted rape in a women’s bathroom on a college campus, and tried to kill a man whom he thought to be Jewish. He is scheduled to be executed at 10am Thursday February 17, 2011 by lethal injection at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility . BUH BYE FRANK!

US Veterans filed a class action lawsuit today against the US Military for the way their sexual assaults and rapes were handled (or not). According to Anuradha Bhagwati, 35, executive director of the Service Women’s Action Network, said the Defense Department’s own statistics show that fewer than one in five of these cases are even referred for court martial.
The lawsuit was filed today by sister attorneys Susan and Elizabeth Burke of Burke PLLC . From their press release: “Media Advisory: Military Rape and Sexual Assault Litigation – Feb. 15 WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Tuesday, Feb. 15, a group of U.S. military veterans who allege that they were raped or sexually assaulted during their international and domestic military service will discuss their forthcoming federal-court litigation, which will be filed early that morning, at the National Press Club at 9:30 a.m. Eastern. Scheduled to speak at the news conference in the NPC Murrow Room are: • Several of the veteran plaintiffs in the lawsuit. • Keith Rohman, president, Public Interest Investigations, Inc. (PII), Los Angeles, Calif. • Eleanor Smeal, president, Feminist Majority Foundation, Washington, D.C. • Anuradha Bhagwati, executive director, Service Women’s Action Network (SWAN), New York, N.Y. • A representative of the veterans’ legal team.”
According to an AP report the plaintiffs “want an objective third party to handle such complaints because individual commanders have too much say in how allegations are handled.”
From the same report: “In one incident, an Army Reservist says two male colleagues raped her in Iraq and videotaped the attack. She complained to authorities after the men circulated the video to colleagues. Despite being bruised from her shoulders to elbows from being held down, she says charges weren’t filed because the commander determined she “did not act like a rape victim” and “did not struggle enough” and authorities said they didn’t want to delay the scheduled return of the alleged attackers to the United States.
“The problem of rape in the military is not only service members getting raped, but it’s the entire way that the military as a whole is dealing with it,” said Panayiota Bertzikis, who is a plaintiff in the lawsuit and claims she was raped in 2006. “From survivors having to be involuntarily discharged from service, the constant verbal abuse, once a survivor does come forward your entire unit is known to turn their back on you. The entire culture needs to be changed.”

Duke University Sociologist Kieran Healy from Crooked Timber broke down the NORC 2009 Survey of Earned Doctorates by Gender. From SED: “The Survey of Earned Doctorates (SED) is a federal agency survey conducted by NORC for the National Science Foundation and five other federal agencies (National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Education, National Endowment for the Humanities, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration).
The SED gathers information annually from 45,000 new U.S. research doctorate graduates about their educational histories, funding sources, and post-doctoral plans.”

Fast on the heels of the Trans community in the social political realm of surgical gender body modification is the MTE (Male To Eunuch) community. Formerly isolated MTEs (non-transgender males who have their testicles removed electively), “Nullo” and “Smoothies” (non-trans males who have both testicles and penis removed for a smooth completely genital-less appearance*) have formed strong communities since the advent of the internet and are becoming increasingly activist in lobbying for medical/surgical services that are currently offered only to those males who have a conflicted “internal gender identity”. MTE’s say the fact that they retain their male identity should not limit their access to the same medical and surgical services offered to transgender males with genital dysphoria.

Nullos and MTE’s often seek castration and penectomy from surgeons in Thailand and India, and a few SRS providers in the US who have been willing to forgo the Harry Benjamin Standards of Care which were set up for MTF and FTM clients, but not for MTE’s who cannot meet their requirements (such as living in the opposite sex’s social gender role for a year) simply because they have no interest in undergoing social gender reassignment. Some US states allow chemical castration and Texas allows voluntary surgical castration for criminal sex offenders but not to lawful citizens which MTE’s assert is unfair.
Many MTE’s and “smoothies” report wanting to remove their genitals since early childhood, and some seek out desperate remedies for their surgical desires, either attempting self-castration, or seeking out the illegal services of “cutters”: self-styled underground surgeons who will perform castrations and penectomies in hotel rooms using substandard dirty equipment, often with tragic results.
Why do MTEs and Nullos want to be castrated? Their narratives vary, from a typical one here: “ I became a eunuch because I had an overwhelming desire to be castrated. I started out cutting my scrotum and for a few years, I never considered castration, but somewhere along the way, my desire/fantasy changed and I couldn’t stop thinking about getting castrated. I couldn’t control the desire and finally got castrated. It wasn’t to control my sex drive, it was a desire I couldn’t control, I’d go to bed thinking about it and wake up thinking about it. Maybe my desire for castration was a result of sexual frustration or maybe it was my way of finding some sort of weird sexual satisfaction, I don’t know, but I had to be castrated and finally was castrated. “
Other MTE’s and self described “Neuters” seek genital nullification or castration for the purported “Eunuch Zen” described as a feeling of peacefulness and calmness that occurs after the removal of one’s genitals. Some Nullos retain some sexual pleasure in the prostate area, some do not, and according to one report “Some of us who have had had total removal of the penis nonetheless experience almost perpetual arousal at times.”
There is a long history of MTEs through the ages, but only since the internet have MTEs Smoothies and Nullos been able to share voices worldwide. Talula of Eunuch.org says “We need, as a eunuch community, a medical way to say ‘Yes! I want to lose my testicles!’ without getting sexual reassignment surgery. People will do it themselves if there’s not an alternative,” he says. “I know. I know because I did it.”
(*Some Nullo purists contend a “true” Nullo undergoes nipple excision as well as castration and penectomy for total “smoothie” effect)
20 year old british model and actress Claudia Seye Aderotimi died Tuesday, hours after being injected with what investigators speculate was industrial grade silicone (the kind you get at home depot to grout your bathroom tiles with) in the buttocks by a fake doctor performing illegal plastic surgery in a Philadelphia hotel room. The young victim died of apparent silicone embolism to the lungs.
Police are seeking the suspect, transgender YouTube artist 41 year-old Padge Victoria Windslowe who goes by stage name Black Madam and is seen in the video from YouTube above. Warrants served at Windslowe’s apartment yesterday revealed multiple cell phones, multiple aliases and identification cards, and credit card in the name of Vanessa Brown, as well as syringes and silicone. “Windslowe juggled many identities. The cards found in the apartment on West Montgomery Ave. identified her as Tonya McClelland, Vanessa Brown, and Page Victoria Winslowe. In her neighborhood, everyone knew her as “Vicky.” The suspect identified themself to the victim as “Lillian Lang”. Windslowe “advertised buttock enhancement injections on her YouTube channel, according to court filings”. The advertisements have since been removed. According to the NYDailyNews “Windslowe’s Facebook page describes her as a “classically trained musician” who was also “the head of a lucrative ‘adult services company.'”
Illegal and dangerous black market silicone injecting is “a procedure that few if any doctors would recommend. Nevertheless, it remains popular in the nation’s transgender communities, where illegal “pumping parties” provide the chance for groups of people to get injections at somebody’s house, apartment or motel room.”
The victim, Claudia, was not transgender but an aspiring actress and model who had previously undergone the same procedure in November. Her ex-boyfriend said “After she had the injections last time, she told me she couldn’t take the pain and wouldn’t do it again. I never thought she would go back.” “When she first mentioned having surgery, I thought it was just a joke. We laughed about it and I never imagined it would end up being the cause of her death.” “she told me having the injections made her feel better about herself. Every girl has something they don’t like about their looks and she mentioned her bum a few times.”
The “APB alert” twitter was issued after the procedure was performed. The other links are to a photo of a feminized individual modeling their buttocks for the camera. “you better do it” BlackMadam comments.
Windslowe was also the founder of a “secret society” of transgender males called the “Ssshe Society”. I’ve included the text of their manifesto in the comments.
