“Transgender” Teen arrested for Mass-Murder threats against Arizona Schoolmates

December 21, 2012

Downtown Mesa

A sixteen year-old Arizona girl was arrested Thursday morning for posting detailed plans for committing mass murder of fellow students at the Maricopa County Red Mountain High School that she attended, to be followed by her suicide. She posted the plot on the YouTube video of a transgender Vancouver community group. The channel owner reported the threats to Vancouver police who tracked them down to the Mesa AZ region and contacted area police Wednesday night.

From ABCNews:

Part of the post reportedly said the following: “I now literally have a plan of seriously hurting… killing… murdering people in my high school. And a playlist to do it.”

According to [police Sgt.] Jones, the post went on to say, “I WORK at the high school as a student teacher basically… which is why no one can find out about me somewhat accidentally planning to blow up the school. (and yes… it would be super easy…)”

The teen has reportedly admitted making the posts.

Sherriff Joe Arpaio said in an online news conference that the teen has been arrested as a juvenile for one count of threatening and intimidating and one count of computer tampering but that the investigation was ongoing and more charges were possible. He stated that the teen’s motive was not yet clear but that there were not yet any indications of bullying. She is being held in a Juvenile facility.

From the Maricopa Sherrif’s Dept press release [PDF]:

“ …the 16 year old is a student teacher at the high school and in her interview with Sheriff’s detectives said she was scared because she thinks she may really carry out the plans detailed in the post, and “ f@#king kill everyone”.

The 16 year-old also admitted to Sheriff’s detectives that she had thought about the killings for a while, planning to “cut the wires to the security carts” on campus so as to slow down the response during an explosion, and shoot people from the other side of a fence.

When Sheriff’s detectives entered the home this morning, they found three handguns including a semi-automatic .40 caliber, a .357 revolver, and a .22 revolver and seized two computers in the home to process for further evidence. The weapons were not seized but released to the girl’s father for safe keeping.

In the interview by Sheriff’s detectives of the girl’s parents both said their daughter has a history of mental health issues, has been seen by a psychiatrist, and had recently been inquiring about where the guns were being kept in the house. The father said he was alarmed by his daughter’s comments and took the additional safety precautions of placing trigger locks on each gun and safeguarding them in a gun safe.”

From KPHO News:

“A neighbor who’s known the teen for years said she’s a gifted musician and she never showed any violent tendencies.

“She’s really nice once you get to know her,” said Braydon Barlow. “But, other than that, that’s nothing like her. I’ve never seen her act like that.”

A longtime friend who played with her in a band says she recently came out as transgendered.

“I’m shocked. Totally surprised. I’ve known her forever, since like third grade and I just can’t believe it’s her,” said Red Mountain junior Jacob Stowasser.

Another friend, Jake Betts, told CBS 5 she was a member of the school’s Gay Straight Alliance club, or GSA, but that she dropped out at the urging of her parents.

“Just recently she’s had a lot of problems. Like personal problems with family and stuff,” said Stowasser, without providing details.”

Students were sent home early Thursday. The school will have increased security on Friday and will close early.

Rumors of potential threats swept across the U.S. causing hundreds of school closures this week in the wake of the devastating mass murder of women and children at the Sandy Hook CT Elementary School. Dozens of teens have been arrested nationwide for making threats against their schoolmates via social media, phone calls, and notes.

If you’re contemplating killing anyone-just kill yourself instead. Why should others be killed just because you want to shoot up your school? I’m getting tired of these school shootings. Schools need to be on lock down, put in metal detectors if you have to, have extra police officers if need be. Protect the children!

I live in Oz (the land of magics…and also marsupials) and I had a male friend the same way. He lost a girlfriend to pregnancy then a birth commune family (please, women can do a much better job raising a baby. Idiot.). He lost it. He felt rage against everyone.

I don’t want to water down the unsub’s motives but I have known many unhappy men, that have been upset with gender expectations, that have thought of doing this. I have been pulled into the principals office and asked if my friend was actually intent of killing people because he had made a manifesto and was very unhappy (he was, he planned it out).

I live in Canberra, Australia so you can see the statistics for yourself (no gun crime at all really). But he did beg me (My grandpa has many hunting guns and some illegal hand guns *cough don’t tell QldPol cough*) about getting a gun. He wanted to do a Columbine. But the only people he knew with guns were me, and some of my paranoid biker/European friends, so he was unsuccessful. And I urge my American friends to take heed. Unhappiness can lead to a lot of things. The worst case is suicide but the worst case is massacre…and that is so much worse. Knife crime and physical violence is much harder to commit than gun crime. I look at crime scene photos. To stab or bludgeon someone to death is much more physically draining than an extension of the index (or tightness of the hand). I see physical violence everyday (I’m a student of Forensic science / Forensic analyst).

Guns do not protect you. The main problem comes from outsiders. That can be resolved with a flick knife or keys-in-hand. Maybe I’m too Oz central, but I don’t think guns are the answer. They are one step just above nukes and phosphorous bombs…and for what? What can threaten you like that? It’s not the same as War threat. These days nobody can invade without prior knowledge, that’s plenty of time to distribute guns and ammo to citizens.

I went on a whole huge fuckin’ rant. I apologise.

    • Beth Says:

I forgot to out “worst case” in marks. Worse case they kill themself, WORST case they kill others and the pain is expontially worse. To clarify.

  3. liberalsareinsane Says:

“Transgendered teen” So is it a girl who is ft”m” or a boy who is mt”f”? This kid is referred to with female pronouns but I don’t know if they’re just enabling and being politically correct or if it’s actually a girl.

    • Marie-France Lesage Says:

Well, as everyone is using “she” we must be talking about an M2T — which fits statistically with the nature of the threats and planned crimes.

But once again the TRUE crime stats will be obscured by the current “trans” cult insanity.

The MRA’s will have one more item of “proof” that “girls are just as violent as boys”.

    • fwancis Says:

Yeah, I was confused for the same reason. This is why using “preferred pronouns” is stupid. In mainstream feminism, I felt like I was taking crazy pills, immersed in all this bullshit, until I finally came across sanity: Using pronouns according to sex, not preference, *gasp* and using more accurate terms like F2T and M2T.

  4. Ave Says:

What’s up with all these shootings recently? People are crazy….if you’re going to kill someone also why is it killing random kids or random people? It’s downright evil and chaotic.
As an aside, congrats to everyone who survived the mayan apocalypse!

    • 1899fcbarcelona Says:

One of the high schools in my city had to cancel school today-why? Because some kids thought it would be funny to threaten shooting up the school.

  5. Ave Says:

i’m a bit confused about the article though, i don’t think the person who made the threats was trans but her friend was trans

  6. GallusMag Says:

I covered this because my trans readers expect me to cover trans stories that are censored by the trans sites. I felt it would be of interest to my readers in the FTM community. I don’t know that there’s a huge discussion to be had around it beyond that. (Not that I’m discouraging one- Thank you all for your comments).

Apparently the teen posted her comments on more than one FTM YouTube:

“A Ryerson University student is being hailed as a hero after thwarting what could have been another Newtown massacre.

A 16-year-old girl was arrested late Wednesday after Toronto police alerted the Maricopa County Sheriff’s office in Mesa, Ariz., of a disturbing message she posted on a YouTube channel.

Alex Haney, a fine arts student at Ryerson who operates the Transgender community channel, discovered the post Wednesday morning and alerted Toronto police to it.

When contacted by the Star, a modest Haney declined to speak to any more media about the incident.

“All I did was tell police about an email,” he wrote in an email. “I just don’t want to sensationalize this any more.”

Haney, who uses the channel to document his life as a transgender youth, told CBC News he believed the comment was from a male at first.

“He was thinking of plans in his head for how to carry out hurting people in his school, and that it would have been easy to bomb the place, but he just didn’t have the stuff for a bomb,” Haney said, describing the post’s content.

The post said, in part: “I now literally have a plan of seriously hurting … killing … murdering people in my high school … I WORK at the high school as a student teacher basically … which is why no one can find out about me somewhat accidentally planning to blow up the school …”

The post also said it would be “super easy” to do.

Haney, 25, contacted police after hearing that a fellow blogger in California got the same message, according to ABC15 in Arizona.

“My reaction was: This person needs help,” Haney told ABC15.”

    Here is Haney’s YouTube Channel:

“MESA, AZ – A Toronto video blogger received a message about a murderous plot at a high school somewhere in the United States; turns out, that plot was written by a sixteen-year-old girl in Saguaro Lake.
The target: Red Mountain High School in Mesa.
The blogger, Alex Haney, 25, contacted the Toronto Police Department after hearing a fellow blogger in California also received the very same message.
“My reaction was, this person needs help,” Haney told ABC15 via Skype from his home.
Haney blogs about transgender issues on YouTube, which is why he believes the stranger contacted him.
“They were saying they’re “trans,” and that’s why they’re reaching out to me,” he said.
The teenage suspect wrote the post under a boy’s name, said a Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson.
“I didn’t want to reply and say the wrong thing,” Haney told ABC15, “and possibly make it worse.”

  8. Old Music Says:

From the main piece, it looks like this is a girl (a FAB female) who may have been a lesbian, her parents couldn’t cope with that, so she decided that she must ‘really’ be a boy, and then this.

Patriarchy fucks you up. I’m not making any excuses for her behaviour, but it takes a lot more to push women over the edge like this. I don’t think there are any cases, ever of a woman carry out this kind of massacre, until now, and this didn’t actually happen, it could have been a cry for help on her part.

I think it was Sheila Jeffreys who said that queer/transgender/post modernism was literally driving young women insane, because it made it impossible for them to understand the structural reality of the world they inhabited; perhaps this is the outcome of that?

    • GallusMag Says:

Agree. I can think of only two women offhand who have committed mass murders- there was a schizophrenic lesbian who struck at a shopping mall years ago, and a teenaged girl who struck at an elementary school, also years ago- the Boomtown Rats wrote a song about her “I don’t like mondays”.

According to profilers both mass murderers and serial murderers share the common feature of fantasizing obsessively about “the act” prior to carrying it out, usually for years. This young woman fits that profile- at least that is how I interpret her alleged statement of saying (paraphrasing) “I’m afraid I might actually do it”. The more you create something in your mind the more you actualize it. I’m not talking some new age shit- it’s the same process athletes use, etc.

      • GallusMag Says:

The woman in the shopping mall rampage that I mention above not only fantasized “the act” for years prior but she used to walk around the mall telling people she was going to shoot them, and line them up in her sites using her pointed finger as a “gun” to simulate blowing them away – right in their face- FOR YEARS before she actually did it.

Of course 99.999% of these types of crimes are done by men, if that needs saying.

      • EqualRightsAndProtection Says:

There are quite a few women who are part of a couple that start serially killing people. Charlene Gallego, Faye Copeland (and she quilts from trophies collected!), Debra Brown, etc. If you look at the relationships, they are often driven to act by a man as a catalyst. Often the relationship is highly abusive.

There’s Kristen Gilbert. She kind of stands in a category of her own.

Of this sort of walk in and shoot up the place violence, very few women do that. Women are more often poisoners rather than shooters.

    • darkstar Says:

Laurie Dann comes to mind, probably because I spent time in a neighboring town. Shot up a grade school in Winnetka in 1988.

Teen accused of deadly school plot to remain behind bars

    By Rebecca Thomas – email

    MESA, AZ (CBS5) –
A Mesa teen accused of plotting a deadly attack on her high school will spend Christmas behind bars.

During the 16-year-old’s first court appearance, the judge ruled against releasing her over concerns that she’s a risk to herself and others.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested the teen early Thursday morning after she admitted to posting, on a transgender community YouTube page, her plans to kill herself and other students at Red Mountain High School.

The teen appeared terrified as she faced the judge.

Wearing handcuffs and shackles, she spent much of the hearing hunched over and crying. At times, she even trembled as her attorney discussed the case with the judge.

Her attorney, James Padish, told the court his client is a troubled child.

He said while the teen is a straight A student with a large, loving family, “she’s a kid who needs help.”

In fact, her parents, grandparents and other members of her family attended the hearing – most of them crying throughout.

According to the Maricopa County Juvenile Probation Department, the teen has a history of unstable behavior, running away from home and has threatened to hurt herself in the past.

Because of that, they recommended she remain in detention until her next court hearing.

Padish, who spoke on behalf of the girl’s parents, agreed stating, “the safest place for her, is to remain detained.”

He said she needs stabilization and structure.

A motion for transfer hearing is set for 10:30 a.m., Jan. 14.

The County Attorney wants to try her as an adult because of the seriousness of the crime of which she’s accused.

The teen faces one count of computer tampering – a class 5 felony.

The County Attorney’s Office also tells CBS5 she will undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

Once Friday’s hearing was over, a CBS5 reporter witnessed the teen head straight for her mother to give her a hug.

    Both were crying.

The teen sobbed to her mother, “I am so sorry!” before embracing her other family members.

  10. radicalwoman Says:

I think, since no actual transition has been gone through, this article is talking about an FAB. She sounds very troubled. I wonder a lot of things. Was she set off by the media coverage of the other recent school shooting? Is she enraged at her classmates for bullying issues? Since she believes she is a man maybe she thinks she should act like one? Has violent trans rhetoric pushed her?
I also read her telling someone about the plot as a “please stop me, I need help”.
Why does trans so often go with deep mental disturbance? Hmmm, let me think. (I’ve yet to meet a RL trans person without a lot of mental issues either.)

  11. GallusMag Says:

THIS ARTICLE IS ABOUT A FEMALE. Not sure why that is not clear. FEMALE. FTM.

    • Marie-France Lesage Says:

Thanks GM. When I read “trans” and “she” in my first pass of the article, I assumed that it was the politically correct “she”, not the biologically real “she”. It’s hard to keep your bearings once you fall down the “trans” rabbit hole.

  12. Angry Says:

It seems to me that the entire notion of transsexulaity is what drove this young woman (yes, that is what she is, and what she always will be) to the point of mental instability. Females are females. Males are males. Get over it. The so-called trans community that became accessible to an otherwise innocent 16-year old via the Internet, is the real problem here.

Please, PLEASE go back into the closet and keep your nonsense out of the minds of children. The problem with all of this “coming out” (with the intention of garnering acceptance for one’s pathologies), is that it risks making the behaviors/attitudes SO mainstream, that it essentially enables a child with even a small tendency towards gender confusion, to embrace it, act upon it, and ultimately ruin her life and the lives of those who love her. Shame on you. Shame on all of you.

    • GallusMag Says:

      Gender confusion? What is that.

Don’t be ridiculous. Young women who want to escape the social sex roles inflicted on them merely for the crime of being born reproductively female are not “gender confused”. They are desperate to escape the female lot. They can’t even take their shirt off at the beach without gross men attacking them. So they chop their breasts off.

It is SEX ROLES tormenting these young women. It is SEX ROLES FOR WOMEN that are causing distress. It is membership in the lower caste- the sex caste FEMALE that these girls are quite LOGICALLY attempting to escape. They are not “confused” but desperate to escape their inborn fate.

BTW the dozens of other teens arrested nationwide for threats against classmates this week had -as far as we know- no ties to transgenderism. Shame on YOU.

      • Angry Says:

I stand by my comments. No shame here. Only sadness for a young girl who got sucked into the lies of “transgenderism”. It is absolutely what drove her to this point. Don’t assume otherwise.

      • GallusMag Says:

On what do you base your very specific conclusions about this very specific child. Are you implying that you know the girl?

      • mizknowitall Says:

Would that those words could replace the legions of horrible YouTube’s promulgating the wonders of being “trans!” It is truly shocking to me how here we are nearly two generations past “Our Bodies, Ourselves” and young girls are feeling even more social pressure to conform into unwanted sex roles than they did back then! That for those who cannot imagine being a female under such, find the only viable option to saying no is “to become a man!”
        Sad… so very very sad!

  13. KittyBarber Says:

A couple of questions: Was this woman on testosterone? Where is her ‘community’ now, why aren’t they lobbying for her to be housed in a male-only facility?

    • Mortified Says:

First one, I don’t know, but I personally wouldn’t use the term “woman” to refer to a 16-y-o.

Second, no, because crimes committed by “trans” people are not criminal in their imaginary world. They’ll be lobbying to have her, uh, “him”, released.

    • Marie-France Lesage Says:

Ewww!!! That close-up seared my retinas. :0/

Why in the world would any teacher of fourth-graders think that video was appropriate for his class?

  14. Ave Says:

hey gallus mag, it’s off-topic but what are your thoughts on the group “Femen”? i’m not sure of what to make of them with their nude protests. also it seems that they’re being run by two brothers:

  15. jim white Says:

I believe she was being bullied. Im a transsexual. I know how it feels to be different in this world. What she said an was going to do is wrong. I dropped out an got my ged it was safer for me then stay next to uneducated people that honestly didn’t care i was in the wrong body. Harderest part was telling my family . Don’t put down people like me because you don’t understand the constant battle that people like me face every time we walk out the door. I don’t live in Arizona anymore i was out of place in that state.

  16. leftnotliberal Says:

I’ve noticed an aspect of this FtoT thing from reading fake fun fem sites like jezebel that may relate to the Fto T phenomenom that I don’t think I’ve seen commented on. When liberal fun fem websites discuss porn, there are inevitably a few anguished cries of “but I hate watching porn” I don’t like it, it’s upsetting” The response I’ve seen in comment sections is very telling. On jezebel, for instance, (was it a freakin’ EDITORIAL decision?) Has rarely, in that type of site. “Fine, completely natural you might find this degrading revolting disgusting but INSTEAD, ;hey, if you find the power dynamics etc.of het porn upsetting…just watch GAY PORN!!! Seriously. I wish I’d screen capped so much of what I’ve read on that site. They’ve changed the format so it’s impossible to go back and recapture the confusion, and abuse.

  17. A.C. Says:

So what if I told you I knew this kid. 2 years ago she messed up and got slammed in kid jail. She got out three weeks later (because there’s this thing called the media twists facts), and little to nobody cared. Developed an eating disorder, de-transitioned, was homeschooled the rest of the year and got herself a nice job. Recovered, went to a neighboring school, graduated #1 4.57, ACT 34, got into a selective school, and now is a Pre-med Chemical Engineer major.

And that would be my life.

Don’t judge for past mistakes, especially when the “facts” aren’t correct.

I did 24 hours of community service and wrote two essays. Really a “hard crime” if you ask me. (But you probably wouldn’t.)

    • GallusMag Says:

I am extremely pleased that you got your life back on track! Thank you for the update, and keep up the good work. And, no, I wouldn’t contact a minor from a news story to ask them questions, sorry.
Very best to you sister. x.

      • A.C. Says:

lol I’m not a minor anymore. Didn’t mean it like that either but hey, I did want to tell someone anonymously though. Still healing I suppose, everybody got everything wrong, not even an understatement.

      • GallusMag Says:

It is truly horrifying to discover how unethical and incorrect “the news” is, particularly when you are the subject of it. I’m sorry you went through that. Looks like you have your head in the right place though. Excellent job with your studies.

      • GallusMag Says:

When you get old it will make an interesting chapter in your memoirs.

    • Ashland Avenue Says:

Wow, congratulations, A.C.! You sound brilliant, and strong. Best wishes for a successful future.
