  1. australopithecene Says:

It’s such a whitebread suburban movement.

  2. coelacanth Says:

Transing is the one guaranteed way that whitebread suburban men can trans-form themselves into marginalized and oppressed non-white women (uh, like intersectionality, Hater!). It’s a left-wing approved Get Out of Male Free card. Proof from a Toronto event documented in Toronto Life Magazine.

    The event:
    http://kitchenbitches.ca/
“Kitchen Bitches: A conference to address the patriarchy in the world (and in the world of restaurants). September 3, 2015 at 5:30PM Revival Bar, 783 College Street, Toronto. Online tickets are sold out! 25 tickets will be available at the door for $75 each.”

    The documentation:

    [name of trans person], “cook
I’ve worked in a kitchen both as a man and as a woman. When I worked as a man, I was part of the dude-bro culture, I played along with the dudes. When I look back on that now, it was kind of shitty of me. I didn’t stand up for women enough and I allowed that abuse of women to happen. Even though at the time I knew I was a woman living as a man. After coming out as a trans woman, I went back to kitchen work. I got a job and on my first day, after 15 minutes, I got kicked out of the women’s change room where I was putting on my chef’s uniform. So I walked out. I have 10 years experience working as a cook and kitchen manager. I managed restaurants for five years. But my career is done. For the last year and a half I’ve been working as a fucking dishwasher. What I really want to see happen in the industry is what I want to see happen in life in general. People need to listen to oppressed people. I have white privilege. But I’m also experiencing oppression as a trans woman, as a queer woman, and as a low-income woman.”

    The Follow up:
This same oppressed trans is featured yet again in the same magazine (Toronto Life October 2015 issue which is not yet linkable online) so that more haters can get edumacated about real oppression.

    • stchauvinism Says:

So he “was part of the dude-bro culture”, ie; sexually harassed his female co-workers, and he quits in a huff after he “comes out as a transwoman” and wants to get undressed with his female co-workers now that he’s declared himself always a woman. And the bitches refuse to share a changing room with his womanly self ( who they know to be a man but who cares, he said he’s a woman now, suck it up ladies) and kick him out!!! Oh, that poor oppressed man.

    • radicaljane Says:

I’ve worked in kitchens and received the kind of dudebro harrassment he’s talking about, and he nauseates me. I’m glad he’s working as a dishwasher and I can guarantee you he is not “experiencing oppression as a queer woman.”

I have actually walked out of kitchen jobs after putting up with abuse. Not being able to change in the women’s doesn’t even compare.

      • kesher Says:

He enjoyed harassing women as a man and now he enjoys harassing women as a “woman” by saying we are not allowed to exclude him and his female penis. Same as it ever was.

  3. Magdalena Z. Says:

It seems like he’s her problem child with the ADHD and autism or whatever she’s diagnosed him with, if she “struggles” with him the most out of all her other kids I wonder if she picked him to be her project child, and trans is the biggest, least challenged trend right now to label your kid as and reap applause for being such a supportive on trend mother. Poor kid. My boy cousins used to dress up as girls and put on shows for us, they did comedy shows and plays, no one batted an eye, they were just deemed creative and imaginative. One turned out to be gay the other married young and has two kids. I’m so glad they escaped this, (both are in their early thirties now).

  4. anotheranonmale Says:

Maybe this is a silly question, but with all these ultra early transitioners who never go through puberty, wouldn’t the amount of tissue available for srs procedures be so dramatically reduced as to drastically impact the outcome in a negative fashion?

    • nemesister Says:

Most of them will detransition before they are old enough for grs. The sob stories of disappointment in the surgeries will be all over YouTube by then. Though it’s going to be interesting to see the whitebread suburbanites with unrealistic surgery expectations crashing headlong into the “female penis” crazies.

      • Pegasus Olsen Says:

How CAN they detransition? A boy who is put on puberty blockers and then straight onto estrogen is never going to develop into a normal man physically, regardless of whether he had genital surgery. Adult MtTs can detransition easily (especially compared to FtTs), but the kids experience irreparable harm.

    • nemesister Says:

Though yeah… I guess lack of tissue would be an issue if they try it anyway. I never thought of that.

    • Siobhan Says:

I think the trend is to use skin from their colon anyway in that surgery. But fewer and fewer males are choosing the surgery – they think they are just awesome with their “female penis” and would like to keep it.

    • I was thinking about this too. Gnrh agonists and hormones are known to reduce the size of adult mens genitals. So if adults suffer from this – children will be no exception.

It’s also totally fucked up: they prevent childrens bodies from maturing normally ! Puberty is important! They don’t get the right puberty with hormones. Pumping drugs in your body doesn’t equal puberty.

  5. sadmillennial Says:

Thank God for this blog. It is like an oasis of common sense in an ocean of crazy. This is my first comment here, though I’ve been reading the past articles the last few weeks. As my username says, I am a millennial who recently discovered radical feminism and it has been what I’ve been looking for all my life. After an entire lifetime of being told how to be “empowered” as a woman in this society (watching porn, “owning” my sexuality, being “liberated”), and feeling alienated and crazy for not liking this, I finally now know I’m not alone. So thank you, Gallus Mag.

As for the article, I am embarrassed by the worship by “progressives” of parents who advocate medicalising gender-nonconforming children. And if you question the sanity of this you get labeled a bigot. I am disgusted by the hypersexualized culture and that poor 11 year olds are sexualized and unable to just be kids. It is revolting and it makes me mad.

It is frightening how many people seem to have drank the “trans kids” Kool-Aid and think that any form of expression by kids not approved of by commercial toy companies means they have a medical condition. Apparently a non negligible amount of the population thinks of femaleness as a collection of stereotypes and an affinity for sexualized fashion. Unbelievable. Thank God my parents didn’t take my wanting be the Hamburgler for Halloween instead of a fairy princess to mean I had a “boy brain”. I was also pretty rebellious and not that into boys. Maybe I might like some hormones? What a Brave New World, and it is damn creepy.

  6. Georgeann gillespie Says:

Pimping her kid out for cash and fame. Sick fuck.

    • ftmskeptic Says:

Yes. The MOM recorded and posted the videos.

This looks to me like another media-whore mom pimping out her kid not only for free Go Fund Me money, but a possible reality show or perhaps even commercial endorsements a la Jazz Jennings. Mom was no doubt hoping the videos would garner national attention for herself and her kid.

I can see it now — Corey will start off with a guest appearance on the Jazz show (“Today I’m getting an amazing opportunity to meet another amazing pretty long-haired girl who wears pink, and just like me, she has… shhhhh… boy parts ‘down there.’ AMAZING!!! COREY IS SOOOOO BRAVE AND AMAZING!!!!”). The guest appearance will snowball into Corey’s own show and an endor$ement deal for shampoo and makeup, because that’s what girls care about.

Poor Corey will be mentally and physically damaged for life, but his mom will be lapping up the attention, rolling in the $$$ and basking in the glow of “best awesome amazing mom” accolades from strangers on social media and on the talk show circuit.

  7. I'm No Cissie Says:

Poor child looks anorexic. He has lollipop head. Not just in that photo but in others I saw by following the links.

  8. I'm No Cissie Says:

BTW, your tags! “I try not to laugh…” I laugh then I cry.

  9. firestone Says:

Look at how long the son’s hair is. It takes years for hair to grow that long. This mother’s been grooming her son into her daughter, i.e. her perfect mirror, for years. This is pure narcissism on the mother’s part. (FYI — Hemingway’s mother also dressed him as a girl for years, not allowing his hair to be cut and introducing him to everyone as her little girl. Mothers doing this to sons is nothing new.)

  10. prozac Says:

Yes, apparently the blocker implant cost $21,000 and was covered by insurance but nonetheless, a gofundmestupid was also featured as the family wants to raise $50,000. Trans surcharge? Also I notice dad’s wearing pink so really it’s only a matter of time before he becomes stunning and brave.

It seems Corey discovered he was trans at the age of 11 after watching a jazz jennings video on YouTube. I read some of the comments on the original article and only one person had pointed out how ridiculous that is. Not that children are easily influenced or anything.

    • These poor children don’t know what awaits them or aren’t able understand it. Hormone injections for life, srs and so on and of course all the various health problems.

    • kesher Says:

If they have regular ACA-compliant insurance, they still have to pay up to $6,000/year out of pocket for this kid’s “medically necessary” estrogen. That’s one upside of our profit-driven health care system in the U.S.
      Munchausen-by-proxy isn’t free.

      • I'm No Cissie Says:

And actually, everyone who pays for insurance will be helping to pay.

When insurance pays for elective procedures that cost $21,000 (for how long, is it once in a lifetime or does it need to be reimplanted in a year) for one person, you cannot wonder why premiums continue to skyrocket and “networks” get narrower and narrower.

    • Biscuit Says:

This particular child is actually likely to be particularly impulsive. His mother noted prior to ‘transing’ him that he has ADHD and ODD (oppositional defiant disorder).

Heaping loads of media attention on a child with ODD seems like a horrible idea. Children without behavioral or emotional problems often develop them after becoming famous.

Given that the mother is likely doing this for attention, it appears to be working. Comments on the buzzfeed article, for example, are utterly glowing and gushing. Most of them are praising Corey for being beautiful. I’m sure nothing could go wrong with giving a young person the idea that their primary function in life is to look beautiful and feminine. (sarcasm).

  11. Holy Shit,
    Your tags are hysterical!
    Over-plucking…LOL

    • hoa Says:

totally seconding this, they made me laugh out loud.

The best part, which almost caused me to spit-take, was “Honey Boo-Boo was Cis Scum, I try not to laugh but I do, James Pritzker, Jazz vs. Corey: Iron Cage Match, Jendur Jerney, journey without end, Lord of the Rings of Gender”

      HAHAHAHA. So good. So good.

  12. This boy is 14 years old and already getting estrogen. According to the article, he was on GnRH agonists. This is the same class of drugs that are given to patients with advanced prostate cancer and endometriosis.

“Corey was soon given a $21,000 puberty-suppressing implant that was fully covered by their insurance.”

As I understand it, GnRH agonists for perfectly healthy children with “gender dysphoria” is an off label use. I don’t believe it’s approved by the FDA for this purpose.

It’s so strange to see mainstream media glorify the sterilization of children. This 14 year boy was on GnRH agonists and now is on estrogen. Pumping a kid full of cross gender hormones before their bodies have time to sexually mature renders them infertile. No one really knows the long term effects on bone and brain development.

Big Pharma makes a lot of money off “transitioning” kids. Big Pharma makes more money from “transitioning” children than it does on menopausal women. They have a patient for life. In the U.S., Big Pharma has more political clout than oil companies, and an army of lobbyist. Add it up. $21,000 for GnRH agonists, a life time of hormones (I’m not sure how much that costs, but it’s not cheap), thousands more for surgery. If there are side effects from the GnRH agonists and/or hormones, or complications from surgery, doctors and Big Pharma makes money off that too.

Below is a great article from 4thwave now,

Kingpins of pediatric transition confess: We have no idea what we’re doing

    From the PBS Frontline article:

“What makes [puberty blocker] treatment tricky is that there is no test that can tell whether a child experiencing distress about their gender will grow up to be transgender. The handful of studies that do exist suggest that gender dysphoria persists in a minority of children, but they involved very few children and were done mostly abroad.

… the use of puberty blockers to treat transgender children is what’s considered an “off label” use of the medication — something that hasn’t been approved by the Food and Drug Administration. And doctors say their biggest concern is about how long children stay on the medication, because there isn’t enough research into the effects of stalling puberty at the age when children normally go through it.

… However, doctors caution that estrogen and testosterone, the hormones that are blocked by these medications, also play a role in a child’s neurological development and bone growth.

“We do know that there is some decrease in bone density during treatment with pubertal suppression,” Finlayson said, adding that initial studies have shown that starting estrogen and testosterone can help regain the bone density.

…Finlayson said there isn’t enough research on whether someone who was on puberty blockers will regain all their bone strength, or if they might be at risk for osteoporosis in the future.

Another area where doctors say there isn’t enough research is the impact that suppressing puberty has on brain development.

“The bottom line is we don’t really know how sex hormones impact any adolescent’s brain development,” Dr. Lisa Simons, a pediatrician at Lurie Children’s, told FRONTLINE. “We know that there’s a lot of brain development between childhood and adulthood, but it’s not clear what’s behind that.” What’s lacking, she said, are specific studies that look at the neurocognitive effects of puberty blockers.

…The physical changes that hormones bring about are irreversible, making the decision more weighty than taking puberty blockers. Some of the known side effects of hormones include things that might sound familiar: acne and changes in mood. Patients are also warned that they may be at higher risk for heart disease or diabetes later in life. The risk of blood clots increases for those who start estrogen. And the risk for cancer is an unknown, but it is included in the warnings doctors give their patients.

…Another potential dilemma facing transgender children, their families and their doctors is this: Taking cross hormones can reduce fertility. And there isn’t enough research to find out of it is reversible or not. So when children make the decision to start taking hormones, they have to consider whether they ever want to have biological children.

[Take a breath and ponder the above sentence: CHILDREN have to consider whether they ever want their own biological CHILDREN.]

“I think it’s really important to talk to these children and families about fertility,” Finlayson says. “I do worry that at that stage in life many of them may not be able to realize how important that would be to them someday.”

    http://4thwavenow.com/2015/07/03/kingpins-of-pediatric-transition-confess-we-have-no-idea-what-were-doingunf/

There is a reason why we don’t let 14 year old children take out bank loans or buy alcohol. The prefrontal cortex of the human brain sometimes called the judgment center of the brain isn’t fully developed until the early to mid twenties. The fact that children feel different doesn’t mean that they possess the maturity to make informed decisions. This is being done to them.

How is it possible to distinguish between cultural influences (everything kids and parents see online, in media, and hear from others) and actual “gender dysphoria?

“… Corey realized she was transgender when she was 11-years-old after she saw a video of transgender YouTube star Jazz Jennings ”

When he was 11, this boy saw Jazz Jennings on youtube, and now he’s convinced that he needed “blockers” (GnRH agonists) and estrogen.

This is a creepy, hyper-sexualized pose for a 14 year old child.

“After watching one of Jazz’s clips,Corey started dressing like a girl in public, and although she faced a great deal of harassment from strangers, her mother encouraged her to be confident by advising her to ‘strike a pose’ every time a stranger tried to take her picture.”

    • Biscuit Says:

It’s odd that people aren’t a bit more touchy about the topic of sterilizing children. It’s quite startling to see how many people are actually uncritically praising the practice of sterilizing kids with hormone therapy they do not actually need. These kids are literally being used as guinea pigs in a twisted medical experiment.

Sterilizing certain classes of people is something that has been done in the past, so I would think that people interested in social justice would be very wary of sterilizing gender non-conforming children. I guess I was wrong.

      • stchauvinism Says:

“Sterilizing certain classes of people is something that has been done in the past, so I would think that people interested in social justice would be very wary of sterilizing gender non-conforming children.”

Sterilization of the “unfit”, eugenics was part of the progressive, forward thinking past as a way of dealing with gays and lesbian past. Then the Nazis came along and eugenics fell out of fashion. Shelia Jeffrey’s has written about this, here’s an article she wrote. http://theconversation.com/eugenics-and-the-practice-of-transgendering-children-3838

“There are similarities between the eugenic sexual surgeries and drug treatments of the past and the transgendering of children now.

The ideas for both treatments come from scientists of sex such as biologists, endocrinologists and psychiatrists. Both practices are based on the idea that certain problematic behaviours have a biological basis and can be “cured” by treatments which alter sexual characteristics.

Historically, eugenics practice was directed at the control or elimination of the economic underclass, “morons”, prostituted women, criminals, gypsies, those deemed morally deficient and lesbians and gays.

The eugenic treatment of lesbians and gays in the past included surgeries such as castration, hysterectomy, vasectomy and lobotomy.

Though males seeking to be transgendered today may be attracted to women or other men, it is recognised that the women are generally lesbians before they are diagnosed as “transgender”. Professionals involved in treating gender identity disorder in childhood are aware that three quarters of the boys referred for diagnosis by their parents will be homosexual or bisexual when they reach adulthood.

A regime of transgendering children, as well as adults, shores up up a correctly gendered and heterosexual state and citizenry.”

    • Why does no one see that it’s likely that this is a fad? Children trying to look like famous people they adore or children doing other things they have seen on tv.

But in the case of trans politics – dress once like a girl/boy and surgeries and harmful drugs await you and you have to deal with the consequences your whole life.

      Horrifying.

    • “her mother encouraged her to be confident by advising her to ‘strike a pose’ every time a stranger tried to take her picture.”

Holy shit! Don’t let strangers take pictures of your children! Dafuq is wrong with you lady?

      • Newbie Says:

This part made me wonder, too. But why on earth would multiple strangers take pictures of a twelve year old? How did the mother have her child dressed or made up that so many strangers would TAKE PICTURES? That she should have to have a plan for how to deal with it? The boy had long hair and was pre pubertal, simply dressing feminine would not cause such a reaction from strangers.

      • Ashland Avenue Says:

I’m glad I’m not the only one who was freaked/mystified by that! If some stranger went to photograph my kid, I’d sure as shit wouldn’t encourage her to pose, FFS!

      • I wonder if these people are just exceptionally naive, or just cynical. Years ago Oprah had a little girl on her show who was about 10 or 12 years old. Anyway, this child had a webpage and people would send her outfits to pose on the webpage. They openly admitted that most of her “fans” were adult men. So basically she was a 12 year old cam girl. Supposedly she saw this as a way to get “discovered” because she wanted to be an actress. Of course, the audience went in on these crazy-ass people. Oprah simply asked the child how many school plays she’d been in. None. Had she taken any dance or music lessons, to you know, develop talent. Nope. It made it clear that these people were exploiting this child for profit and they knew damned well what was going on. It was just sick.

I wonder if all these people with their children on the trans kiddie circuit have lost their minds or if they’re genuinely that naive. Knowing the kind of lunacy goes on online it’s the last thing I’d want for my child. And we’ve been approached twice by reality tv producers (I guess Atlanta’s a hotbed or something), and both times we declined in horror. I have no desire to exploit my children this way. I mean, even if you truly believed your child was trans, why on earth would you have them in the public eye? Surely this is a private, personal matter to be handled at home amongst family and friends? Why are so many of them so publicity hungry? Even under normal circumstances child stars generally don’t come out all that well, (Remember the countdown to when the Olsen twins would be old enough to be in Playboy?) and with the inherent sexualization of trans it’s more than a bit scary.

  13. ImNoCissie Says:

This poor boy is now being used as a poster child for the “bathroom controversy”. Exploited on Instagram by his mother and a photographer, he is presented to the world with the question ” If this was YOUR daughter, would you be comfortable sending her into a men’s bathroom?”

I so want to respond with a meme asking “Why would you send MY daughter in a rest room with THIS man just so you can accommodate your trans-daughter’s delusion” using a pic of Stef-on-knee or any one of the other typical transvestite males who will be jumping at the chance to violate a woman with his presence while she is in a compromising position.
