Mind bogglingly abusive interrogation of a Teaching Assistant at Wilfrid Laurier University. She was accused of committing “gendered violence”, told she had broken the law, and threatened with jail. All for the crime of discussing the controversy of “non-binary” pronouns in a class on grammar titled “ISSUES IN GRAMMAR”!

UNBELIVABLE.

“As the person who made this policy change happen before I hit peak trans I know first hand that it will be horrible for womyn”, says Sarah Fraas, the student leader of the Smith College campaign which forced the historic women-only college to admit males who “identify as” female.

Fraas created the “Trans Women Belong Here” group and ran their “Smith Q&A” website and twitter account. She organized the public protests, and hand-lettered the signs for the attendees herself. “Look at me on the far left before I woke up/shaved my head. So surreal to see my handwriting on all of these stupid signs” she says in hindsight in a recent post on her new blog.

The “Transwomen at Smith Q&A” Facebook page, modeled after Sarah Fraas’s website but apparently managed by another student who still supports men at the school, posted an advisory on December 17:

“Dear Q & A supporters

It has come to our attention within the past few hours that both our tumblr (formerly smith-q-and-a.tumblr.com) and twitter (@transwomenatsc) have been edited by an outside source to reflect trans exclusionary and transmisogynist views that this organization does not hold, and actively opposes.

We have confirmed that these pages have been accessed by someone who used to be involved in our organization. This person has changed the passwords and these outlets are no longer affiliated with Q&A.

You can access a preserved copy of our tumblr here: https://web.archive.org/…/…/http://smith-q-and-a.tumblr.com/
If anyone with web expertise knows something about transferring this data to a freestanding, new tumblr, please get in touch (though it is finals- we will do our best to respond). We do not recommend accessing these former accounts.”

Sarah Fraas’s original campaign was sparked by an autogynephile Connecticut male high school student named Calliope Wong who demanded the right to force women to play along with his sexual fantasy that he is female. Wong has since declined admission to Smith and now runs a loony blog where he repetitively posts demands for an honorary degree from the women’s college for hurting his feelings juxtaposed with pleas for his various GoFundMe campaigns:

“Now, I get that I’m 20 and that most Honorary Degrees are conferred upon people who’ve done decades of work in their respective fields. But trans women facing these compounded forms of violence, in general we don’t have a record of living very long or with very high standards of living. There are few remaining trans elders beyond the age of 40, as it is. We must account for why.

This is why I think we should make this plan happen.

Please share this plan with Smith College, Mount Holyoke College, Mills College, Wellesley College, Barnard College, Bryn Mawr College, and other women’s college alum and current students.

Let’s discuss strategy.”

Not only did Sarah Fraas Spend three (very expensive!) years  at Smith spearheading Wong’s womanhood project- she went that extra distance and targeted Lesbian Feminists and gender critical women who published opinions which contradicted his. She obsessively stalked women who disagreed online and tracked down their personal information, including their employers, whom she then contacted, over and over, sending them falsified claims of wrongdoing in ghastly letters, like a crazy person, and she used the upper class cache of the Smith College reputation to do so. For three years.

Now, she says “radical feminism saved my life”. Male individuals are no longer female,  and that “ I may also write about going down the male-approval trans BS “transwomen deserve to be in women’s spaces” rabbithole thing at some point…”

O-kay. That totally fucked up -arguably criminal- “thing” she did for three years might someday be redressed.

No urgency there. No apparent obligation to undo what she has done. No dashing off apologetic letters to women’s employers. No consciousness of harm done by her real-life stalking of regular working women she disagreed with. No apology to lesbians. No campaign- or even a note- sent to the Smith College board that she lobbied passionately and urgently for years on Mr. Wong’s behalf. She still cites her trans social justice award nomination on her LinkedIn. But hey. She might write about that whole male-approval  “rabbithole thing” that she did.  At some point. Maybe.

GenderTrender received notification yesterday from WordPress.com that Cathy Brennan has filed a legal copyright claim of ownership for the now-archived website RadFem Hub.

Specifically, Ms. Brennan demanded that GenderTrender cease and desist in displaying the above screenshot of the RadFem Hub website header on the grounds that Brennan is the sole and legal owner of said intellectual property.

Cathy Brennan played no part in the creation of the RadFem Hub project, nor participated in the creation of its header or graphics design. She was reportedly brought on board just prior to the demise of the site, under verbal agreement that she would maintain the $50. a year URL costs in perpetuity, an agreement that was apparently reneged on in the space of one year. It is believed that Brennan produced no original content related to the site.

Brennan filed six other simultaneous copyright claims against this website for seemingly random materials published on GenderTrender.

All of her claims have (thankfully) been rejected as without merit by WordPress.com. One might speculate that such claims represent harassment, censorship, and abuse by a wealthy financial services legal partner against a low income working class lesbian feminist blogger, possibly due to ongoing political disagreements.

“Terf Tracker” Allison Woolbert (from youtube)

Allison Woolbert, founder of the “Terf Tracker”, “Trans Violence Tracking Portal” and “Transgender Human Rights Institute” resigned today when his criminal past as a violent sex offender was revealed by fellow transwomen Wesley “Laurelai” Bailey and Harrison “Melissa” Savage. Bailey and Savage formerly assisted Woolbert in his cyber-stalking projects, where they “doxxed” and harassed women they suspected might disbelieve that men such as themselves can “become women” by merely proclaiming themselves as such.

They targeted women, in particular lesbians and feminists, by logging those who “liked” posts on Facebook that the men disagreed with. They then posted what they believed to be the personal information about the women on various websites created to facilitate criminal stalking and harassment against them by fellow “transwomen”. Their purpose was to terrorize women who might believe in the idea that sex-roles are culturally constructed. In so doing they hoped to frighten women from participating in the public square of society and silence discussion of the way sex-roles (“gender”) is harmful to women and girls.

Woolbert, formerly known as Dennis Wayne Woolbert was convicted in 1991 of Aggravated Sexual Assault in the First Degree, apparently his victim was a family member. More details will be posted as they emerge. Here is Woolbert’s resignation letter:

A few weeks ago I was tweeting my consternation that a man named Tara Hewitt (formerly “Tara Kitten”) was nominated to the UK’s Pink List in recognition of his relevance to the LGBT activist community.

tara hewitt pink list

Tara Hewitt is a conservative male politician who campaigns to limit the legal rights of women to access abortion services. He also campaigns against the rights of women to meet publicly for feminist activism outside the presence of men.

In this context, I mentioned in one of my tweets that I was surprised this gentleman had declined Cathy Brennan’s offer to pay for him to personally attend the RadFem2013 conference. He tweeted back thanking me for acknowledging that. And that was that. Life went on.

Earlier today blogger Terri Strange contacted me on twitter asking me about that tweet. I signed in and discovered that Cathy Brennan’s OWL (Organizing for Women’s Liberation) account had also tweeted at me. Brennan’s account directed me via link to a post sent out to 96,000 facebook users from the Organizing for Women’s Liberation page titled “Here Gallus Mag lies about a lesbian feminist for some reason”.

I am not a liar. For whatever reason Brennan DID offer to financially sponsor male anti-abortion activist Tara Hewitt to attend Radfem2013. He declined. Just exactly as I mentioned in my tweet.

I'll pay 4 u

I’ll pay 4 u

I would like to ask Cathy Brennan to desist in libeling me and attempting to smear my reputation as a blogger. I also request a public apology posted to the same 96,000 facebook users she sent this false accusation to. I know there is no point in asking because Brennan uses her wealth and legal skills gained as a representative of Goldman Saks and the payday loan industry to abuse, threaten, and libel working-class lesbians and feminists that she does not like.

Terri Strange asked me to publish a response to Brennan’s libelous claim. I am doing so out of respect for her.

Trans activists really need to lighten up

Transsexuals’ histrionic response to every slight only confirms how flimsy their identity is.

Why are transsexual activists so sensitive to criticism? This is a serious question, not an insult. There must be some reason why the trans community, as it calls itself, is worse at taking criticism or tolerating insulting commentary than, say, the Christian community or the butch lesbian community, both of which also get flak on the internet and elsewhere but don’t tend to respond to it in the way trans types do.

Over the past fortnight we’ve had loads of histrionics from trans activists. Feminist Julie Bindel was hounded off a panel discussion at a British university because she once criticised trans people. Roseanne Barr, maker of the best sitcom of the Eighties, currently stands accused of ‘transphobia’ basically because she tweeted favourably about someone who criticised the trans identity. This follows the trans community’s successful removal of Julie Burchill’s trans-slamming article from the website of the Observer earlier this year. When I wrote a piece arguing that Bradley Manning is not a woman, despite his claims to the contrary, I was bombarded with suggestions that I should kill myself. This from trans activists who (ludicrously) held Daily Mail columnist Richard Littlejohn responsible for the suicide of a trans schoolteacher and said the media must be careful never to criticise this community lest its members feel tempted to kill themselves.

Of course, ours is an age of super-sensitivity, when feeling offended, and more importantly loudly and proudly declaring your feelings of offence, has become the lifeblood of public discourse. But there are different degrees of offence-taking. Some groups seem more capable of riding out criticism than others. Yes, Christian outfits play the victim card and bleat to officialdom about feeling offended by an ad or an article, but mostly they just ignore web-based Christian-bashing, which is voluminous. Islamists are more sensitive, hollering for beheadings whenever someone mocks Muhammad or says the Koran is cobblers.

And the trans lobby is even more sensitive than that, reacting with censorious anger not only to insults but also to people’s allegedly incorrect use of language, to being called ‘a transsexual’, for example, rather than ‘a member of the trans community’. They even picket the offices of newspapers that have the temerity to piss them off. Why the extraordinary touchiness?

I think it reflects the fundamental flimsiness of the trans identity, the fragility of this so-called community. Transsexuals’ hopping-mad reaction to any perceived slight doesn’t confirm that they are a well-organised, increasingly cocky gang holding the world to ransom, as some have claimed. Rather it reveals the opposite – that this is a ‘community’ so sadly uncertain of its own claims, so instinctively aware of the largely phoney nature of its arguments, that it must protect itself from any form of public ridicule or questioning lest its facade be knocked down.

The rule of modern-day identity politics and offence-taking seems to be this: the less rooted and real one’s identity is, the more obsessed one becomes with erecting a forcefield around it in order to keep at bay awkward query-raisers.
